Good Morning!!! Rise and Shine we have made it to the middle of the week! There is something fun about Wednesday…I don’t know why but it always seems like some good things happen and there is tons of fun stuff on everyone’s blogs… just seems like a wonderful day! So my wish for you today is to ENJOY!
I know I have been a little bit hooked on “pink” but it is just so very pretty. I wanted to share this little tutorial with you because it is so simple but the results are absolutely beautiful. You can tailor it to the colors you love…change up the embellishments and use from year to year! Also these little pretties can stay out all year long if you like…what doesn’t go with an angel. I will have tons more tutorials for you during this holiday season in all kinds of colors and materials… I hope you enjoy this one today!
Perfect for the Holiday Season or for that Special Little Girls Room!Â
You will need…Wooden Doll forms in different sizes…wooden wings…paint in the color of your choice…decorative flowers with wire stems…crystal fine glitter…modge podge…paint brush…hot glue gun and whatever you would like to add!
A variety of sizes makes for a fun display!
First step is to base coat your wooden pieces in the colors of you choice.
Now place your base coated wooden piece on flexible cardboard…brush on a nice layer of glue and cover with the clear sparkling glitter and allow to sit for a minute or two and then shake off excess and place to the side so it can cure. Fold your cardboard lightly and pour the excess glitter back into it’s jar.
You will have to repeat and do the back side also because both side show.
All pretty!
Now take your base coated angels…
and coat with glue and sprinkle with glitter…allow to dry and repeat…repeat…repeat until everything is glittered and allowed to dry (about an hour)
Once they are nice and set…take out that trusty glue gun and place a dollop of hot glue in the center of the wing and press on to the back of the angel form…hold for 10 seconds and then release…viola…your Angel has her wings.
While your angels are drying you can take that time to make some pretty halos. I am not going to bore you with step by step by step…but here is the idea. You take one flower and you create a ring like above…of course you measure it to the top of your Angels head to get the right fit…and then…
take the same flower and snip the stem in half. place the flower to the outside of the ring…press to the ring…and now wrap the stem around and around till the flower is attached. With every flower you add the ring becomes more and more sturdy till you have a perfect circle…I make these for candle rings also…they are perfect! Give it a try…possibilities are endless.
For the little halos…just take a little post earring finding…and glue a pretty flower to the top! Easy to attach with a little glue and also has a little bit of height for drama.
Make some pretty bouquets and attach your accessories and viola…pretty Angels for years to come!
Here’s a whole Heavenly family! Aren’t the trees pretty…guess what I got them at Dollar Tree…3 for a dollar…oh the possibilities! Hope you are able to grab some!
I also have to add that by having this clear crystal glitter in your collection of crafting supplies…you have a complete and endless rainbow of colors at your disposal…Whatever color you paint…that is the color that shines through…I love that!!!
I sure hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and I really hope you give them a try…if you do I would LOVE to see them!Â
I am actually going to be carrying the wooden Angels in my etsy shop Popalicioustoo… by this afternoon…if you happen to stop by…please mention you read this blog and there will be an additional gift for you! : )
Till tomorrow — have a wonderful day and hope you CREATE!!!!

I LOVE your angels! And, it wouldn’t do for me to have a jar of glitter that big!!! Everything in my house would be covered in glitter, and I don’t think my husband would like that very much! LOL. Thanks for sharing such a sparkly, pretty tutorial!
