Here is a simple…quick…inexpensive and more importantly a FUN and SAFE toy you can make for your pups…adjust the size to the size of your doggie and you have a perfect gift for Christmas Morning…
A Fleece Pull Toy
This is it…Fleece and a scissors!
I used fleece blankets that I got at CVS…if you have a CVS in your area…these were only $2.50!!! You can go one color or pick a plaid…do you know how many you can make : ) I pre-washed the fleece first…
Now it is time to cut…I folded my fleece in three equal layers and then cut 2 inch strips…
you can make them as wide as you want to. I made some that were about 1 1/2 inches wide…2 inches wide and 3 inches wide…depending on the size of the pup!
The size is totally in your control…once you cut the strips…you are ready to put the toy together…that SIMPLE!
Now assemble your colors by stacking them like above…each one slightly over the next…the more fleece strips you add…the larger and fuller the toy…on an average I used 14-16 strips plus the tying strips…
Now simply place a tying strip under the pile…bring it around and tie the tightest knot you can…then repeat with about 3 more tying strips…reinforcing with a tight tight know…on your final know…double it…
Then it is time to fluff…take each strip and pull it slightly just like you would a tissue paper flower and VIOLA…a great toy that will give your pup pulling and playing fun for a very long time!
For Little Kitties…take a ziplock bag and place a nice bit of dried catnip in it — place the toy in there and zip lock it shut for a week and then…it will be ready to drive kitty KRAZY!!! hugs to Lisa from PosyCO for reminding me about that! : )

I am in the process of making about 100 of these for an adoption event this coming Friday! I would like each little rescue to have their first new toy! I’ll let you know how that goes! : ) Remember…if you are looking for a little furbaby to warm your families heart this year…please think about Adoption…when you OPT TO ADOPT…
everyone wins! : ) HUGS!
Hope you give this easy little project a try…It’s fun and your pup will ENJOY!
There will be more for your pup later this week!

You can help keep pets safe during the holiday season by following the tips below.
* Many holiday plants can lead to health problems in dogs and cats. Among the plants to keep out of reach are holly, mistletoe, lilies and poinsettias.
* Snow globes often contain antifreeze, which is poisonous to pets.
* Pine needles, when ingested, can puncture holes in a pet’s intestine. So keep pet areas clear of pine needles.
* The extra cords and plugs of holiday lights and other fixtures can look like chew toys to pets. Tape down or cover cords to help avoid shocks, burns or other serious injuries. Unplug lights when you are not home.
* Do not let pets drink the holiday tree water. Some may contain fertilizers, and stagnant tree water can harbor bacteria. Check labels for tree water preservatives and artificial snow, and buy only those that are nontoxic. Some folks use screens around trees to block access to electrical cords and gifts.
* Very important: do not put aspirin in the water (some folks do this thinking it will keep the tree or plant more vigorous). If a pet ingests the aspirin-laced water, his health or even life can be at risk.
One baby aspirin can KILL a cat.
* Lovely bubbling holiday lights are moderate to lethal toxicity, depending on the amount of fluid (methylene chloride) inhaled or ingested.
* Keep candles on high shelves. Use fireplace screens to avoid burns.
* Holiday guests and other activity can be very stressful and even frightening to pets. It can also trigger illness and intestinal upset. Make sure pets have a safe place to retreat in your house. And make sure they are wearing current I.D. in case they escape out a door when guests come and go.
* Do not let guests feed your pets human food. There are many holiday foods, including fatty meats, gravies, poultry skin, bones, chocolate and alcohol, that can cause illnesses from vomiting and diarrhea to highly serious pancreatitis and other toxic reactions. Candy wrappers, aluminum foil pieces and ribbons can also choke pets.
* Keep pets away from gift packages as well as your gift wrapping area. Ingested string, plastic, cloth and even wrapping paper can lead to intestinal blockage and require surgical removal. And pets have been severely injured by scissors and other items left on floors and tables.
* If you suspect that your pet has eaten something toxic, call your veterinarian and/or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center’s 24-hour emergency hotline at 1-888-4-ANI-HELP.
Hope you enjoyed this little pet tutorial and the safety tips…I will see you tomorrow for Day 3!
