Cork Coasters…here is a site on line that has fabulous prices and great quality…I highly recommend the 5/8th inch thickness…any thinner they buckle and of course you can go thicker : ) click here: CORK COASTERS
You can also get these at Michaels…dollar stores…hardware stores and more! I just wanted to share this site because I was thrilled to find it! Then you need a stencil or stencils…any design that you would like…of course a quick and easy free way of making a stencil is with your cricket : ) Then you will need acrylic paint and a gloss or satin varnish. Very Simple.
Simply place and center the stencil over the coaster…tape snuggly and then paint over the stencil (it will require a few coats but not to worry…it dries very quickly!) Then remove gently and repeat.
I decided to add my own little snowflakes so I had painted them on with a very thin brush…it’s fun and anyone can do it but they look really nice with just a primary focal : ) They make great gifts and who doesn’t need coasters! Inexpensive and easy! Oh yes — please coat with at least two layers of your varnish and allow to dry. If your edges aren’t exactly the way you want…just touch them up with your thin brush : ) ez pz!
Now if you are using as a gift…you can simply place them in a cello bag and tie with a great bow! Or you can do a fabulous little brown bag gift bag…here’s one that I did months ago…
This is a great little gift bag idea and I know that you will do a fabulous creation with all of your talents!!! Of course a little box is always picture perfect or…
a round tin is so great…this was a plain silver tin…I spray painted and then to embellish it…
