Hi everyone…wishing you all a very happy Monday.
I have to confess…I have an addiction…I love to feed the squirrels and the birds…every morning…religiously I take to the bag of bird bread that we get from Entemans discount bakery
(18 bread items for $1)…not kidding and it is perfect! We get a bag each week! I spread the bread with a thin coat of peanut butter and proceed to feed the squirrels on the side deck…then I put the bird bread out for our feathered friends (my family thinks I am nuts but I love doing it…some go to Starbucks…I feed squirrels : ) Well when I was in the Dollar store getting ready for a week of Dollar Store activity (more about that inside!) I came across some bird seed…5 pounds for $1 so I had to snatch it up…here is what I did with it…
come on inside and get the how to and find more about a
$1 day week of fun that I know you will really enjoy! It ends with a linky party on Friday and you are all invited and yes…Junkin Joe will still be throwing his party too 🙂
What will you need???
Bagels (part of my $1 bird bread bag), peanut butter, bird seed, greenery, cranberries and twine.
I had a hand full of cranberries from Thanksgiving so I used them for berries and the birds love them!
A great way to stretch the birdseed even further is add some grape nuts or any left over cereals you might have hanging out in the closet that is just not going to get eaten!
Simply split the bagel in half and spread a layer of peanut butter on them…covering the entire surface.
Now…just dip and press the peanut butter covered bagel into the bowl of seed.
Time for the cranberries…
Just randomly place them on the bagel wreath…they adhere easily to the peanut butter with just a little press.
We snatched some greenery straight from the pine trees in the yard (these came from a fallen one from Sandy).
We even added some little pine cones…aren’t they cute!
Simply tie a piece of twine and you are ready to hang…
aren’t they pretty…
the little furry and feathered friends will flock to them!
They will feast on this with a big smile!
So there you have it…an easy…fun…inexpensive craft for the wildlife in your yard. A project that the whole family can enjoy.
By the way…we have the chubbiest squirrels ever : )
