Love nuts? Love a good crunch? Love Flavor?
Well this little snack has it all
What you will need...
2 cups of Chickpeas cooked which equals 1 15 ounce can
(feel free to make them from the dry state if you would like)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Seasonings...I chose to go Italian
so I added
Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Crushed Hot Pepper, Italian Seasonings and some Grated Cheese.
FIRST...pat those chickpeas nice and DRY!
What you need to do now is place your chickpeas in a bowl, drizzle the olive oil over them...add all of your seasons and toss thoroughly...make sure you try and coat ever single piece.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spread your mixture on it in a single layer. Place in a 400 degree oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes shaking them up a bit after 15 minutes. If you want them a little softer...less time a bit crunchier...more time. Remove from oven and place in a serving bowl and it is
This makes 4 servings and each serving has approximately 165 calories. This recipe is EASY to double so if you love them make a bigger batch.
Also remember if you are in the mood for Mid Eastern...add a bit of cumin...paprika...if you feel like Asian...a touch of 5 spice...you get the picture...spice it up any way you like...there is no wrong way as long as they are flavors you enjoy!

Talk about an easy thing to make and you can mix it up with all kinds of flavors.
If you are looking to make things Healthier...instead of using chips and bread to dip into this creamy treat...try some veggies!

What will we need?
(this recipes is easily doubled)
2 cups of Chicpeas (1 15 ounce can)
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1-2 cloves of fresh garlic
tablespoon of slice scallions
tablespoon of chopped parsley
salt and pepper to taste
1/8 of a tsp. or a pinch of cumin
1/2 tsp of paprika
2 tablespoons of veggie broth or water
tablespoon of lemon juice
(Once again, seasoning is a matter of taste...so you can experiment with your favorite tastes)
Now add all of your ingredients into a blender or your food processor and slowly blend until your mixture is smooth. If your mixture appears to be dry...you can add a touch more olive oil or a bit more broth or water until you get your desired consistency.
Then simply slice of some veggies...virtually NO calorie little scoops of yumminess...some

and any others that you love or have on hand!
Now scoop your hummus it into your favorite dish...garnish with a slice of lemon and a drizzle of olive oil and if you have the roasted chickpeas and place on a plate filled with veggies and it is snack time!
Hummus is an amazing dip...try adding 1/3 cup of roasted red peppers, or some calamata olives...how about a bit of tahini paste...a touch of left over roasted veggies? If you are not a lover of chickpeas and adore another bean...just replace with your choice...it is versatile and fun...make it your own! Oh and if you by chance have some left over...add some to your veggie soup...it adds amazing flavor!
