Junkin Joe Vintage and Thrifty finds, features and a linky party

Well it is Friday…so that means it must be Junkin Joe! We can’t

wait to see what great stuff you have today but first…let’s take a look at JJ‘s finds this week!  Yes…the $5 budget is still in place!

Joe did say that the pickins were really thin but I still think he found some very interesting things!
 Let’s see what you think!
You have to see his last find…so make sure to scroll down!
First we have some very pretty dishes…all fine English vintage china…

isn’t this a beauty…
detailing with the palest of yellow and a mix of blue and green…edged with gold…

oh and did I mention it even has pretty PINK flowers…
absolutely gorgeous…
they are a perfect pair!
Now for a blue beauty!
Then there was this beautiful Johnson Brothers English china…

tons of blue beauty…
a perfect center…

and lovely birds! A perfect plate.

Now for what I think is an awesome find…a tisket a tasket a green plain picnic basket!
 I know…it is a bit aged
a bit rusty…

and trust me…very dusty!

so what do you think?  I thought it served yummy treats at tons of picnics…held scrumptious goodies …all hand made…watched little children playing in the park and families have fun fun fun on their Saturday afternoons? Well…I am sure that all happened because that is what I want to think : ) but after this little picnic basket got retired it was put to another use…you want to see…I think it is so cool…
it became a basket to hold knitting and crocheting!
Aren’t they fabulous!..
oh the stories this tin basket could tell…I so wish it came with an audio…I picture the most adorable of grannies creating each one of these little squares with love.  Ok…I am a little sad because she never got to finish them or make something from them and alas…I am not that swift with a crochet needle…ok…I can’t crochet lol!!!  I am going to keep a few squares in case I come up with something (doubtful but possible)!  But there is a young lady that has a wonderful blog and WOW what a talented sewer and crochet artist she is…so I thought I would send her some so she can give these little beauties a fitting end…just like the little lady that made them would have loved!  So Miss Heather from Vintage Grey
please send me your address so I can send you some of these pretties for you to play with …they are very light and thin so I will just pop them into an evelope : )   I feel much better that they will be in good hands!
