Oooooooey…gooooooooey and delicious! Can’t you just taste that melted chocolate with goooooooey marshmallow cream all on top of a scrumptious graham cracker crust. I think you are going to put this S’mores in a Mason Jar Dessert into your recipe file and use it often!
S’mores are a childhood favorite of mine but things have changed since then…I have been a vegetarian now for over 15 years and Smore’s have been off the table because of marshmallows. I so miss that oooooey gooooey goodness!
Love that blend of rich chocolate…marshmallow and graham crackers served with ice cold milk!
Now vegetarian don’t have to be deprived of this amazing creation any longer…why you ask? This recipe calls for Marshmallow Fluff…there are different brands floating out there and they are all vegetarian and they do not use gelatin. So those of you that have missed this dessert for a long time…rejoice…you can have it once more! I have to share a secret though…there is no taste difference…the marshmallow top browns to perfection…cracks a bit and is oooooey and goooooey and makes the perfect dessert for the kids…the family and of course friends and guests! Guess what…it can be made ahead of time…that’s right…you can have it all ready to pop into the oven the day before or even longer! How great is that!
Recipe:
Makes 6 8 ounce mason jar servings….12 4 ounce mini mason jar servings which I highly recommend especial for children : )
12 ounces of your favorite chocolate…you can use milk or semi sweet. Chocolate Chips worked perfectly or you can chop your favorite chocolate
1 1/4 cups of Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 stick of Butter
1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon (optional)
1 tablespoon of Sugar
1 12 ounce container of Marshmallow Fluff
3/4 – 1 cup of heavy cream
Directions:
1. Prepare your Graham Cracker Crust by melting your stick of butter and then adding it to your Graham Crackers…Cinnamon and Sugar. Still till completely mixed.
2. Now it is time to make your Chocolate Ganache. Cook the chocolate chips and heavy cream in the top of a double boiler over simmering water until smooth and warm, stirring occasionally.
3. Open your Fluff
Assemble:
Have your mason jars washed…dried and set up so you can assemble them all. First…divide your Graham Cracker mixture up amongst your jars (regardless which size you are using) Press the crumbs into the bottom of the jar. Once again divide up the Chocolate Ganache Mixture and spoon it on top of the Graham Cracker Mixture. Now take a nice big dollop or 2 on top of the chocolate. That’s it! It is now time to place the jars under the broiler for about 5 minutes or until the marshmallow top is golden brown…Or you can place in a 425 oven for 12 minutes for the same results…it’s up to you …but keep an eye on it…the marshmallow will puff up and look amazing…serve immediately!
They are little jars of heavenly deliciousness! I highly recommend using the 4 ounce mason jar size. I used the 8 ounce but honestly it is a bit too much not unless you have some major dessert eaters : ) Hey…you get more out of it and they look as amazing!
If you have a little bit of chocolate ganache left over…pop it in the fridge for a bit till it hardens…scoop it out with a mini scoop…roll with your hands into a ball (yes…your hands are going to get dirty) and then roll the balls into cocoa…powdered sugar…nuts or sprinkles and you will have amazing truffles!
Bon Appetit!!!
